We are currently providing services on a 24h basis in major Greek ports, including Piraeus, Eleusis, Rafina, Lavrion, Corinth, Patras, Corfu, Igoumenitsa, Kavala, Alexandroupoli and Nauplion. Our company is also contracting its services to the Port Authority of the Prefectures of Fthiotida and Messinia, as well as the Port Authorities of Porto Rafti, Mati and Nea Makri.
Our company was founded in its present form by the descendants of the first people to operate in Piraeus Port for the reception of waste from ships in the 1940s.
Ever since, we followed a steadily rising course, which included the acquisition of modern equipment and the expansion in numerous Greek ports.
However, the strong point of Antipollution remains the experience acquired in the past decades and deep knowledge of both environmental and maritime regulations.
Putting constantly hard effort for improvement of the services rendered, the company, as active member of Euroshore, the Association of Port Reception Facilities in Europe and beyond, is seeking to transfer the experience of the fellow members to the Greek market.

Recycling has always been one of the main priorities for our company in a continuous attempt to contribute to the protection of the environment.
Recycling helps conserve important raw materials and protects natural habitats for the future. When we recycle, recyclable materials are reprocessed into new products, and as a result the amount of rubbish sent to landfill sites reduces.
As we are running out of space for landfill, sending less garbage to landfill would help the production of green house gases and the creation of fewer landfill sites. Moreover, if used materials are not recycled, new products are made by extracting fresh, raw material from the Earth, through mining and forestry. In this way, we need extra energy savings because more energy is required to extract, refine, transport and process raw materials ready for industry compared with providing industry-ready materials.
Recyclable materials include many kinds such as wood, glass, paper, metal, plastic, textiles, and electronics. Biodegradable waste such as food or garden waste is not typically considered recycling and has to be separated from the materials we intent to recycle.

Never before has there been so much concern for our environment and coastal habitat. Beaches have become the life blood of most coastal communities as Greece among other countries is dependent mainly upon tourism.
ANTIPOLLUTION S.A, among others, also offers complete beach cleaning services. We use proper equipment to clean the sand itself and enhance the process with the addition of supplemental equipment. Front end loaders are available to move large objects and load spoil directly into dump trucks. Mid-sized excavators are capable of removing buried debris and can load directly into dump trucks as well.
This equipment can be moved quickly, is quick to respond, great at doing an excellent job and easy to work with.

Even though accidental marine pollution still attracts major attention, operational pollution by illegal discharges into the sea could be the main source of pollution of the marine environment by ships.
The provision of Port Reception Facilities for the collection of ship-generated waste is addressed by the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973(MARPOL Convention) adopted under the aegis of the International Maritime Organization(IMO).
This Convention regulates different types of ship-generated pollution in six annexes addressing: oil pollution, pollution from chemicals carried in bulk, pollution from harmful substances carried in packaged form, pollution from sewage, pollution from garbage and air pollution.
